Ensure Employee Workplace Safety and Environment Protection

  • Understands policy development requirements / Customer standards.
  • Ensures smooth operations of fire safety equipment.
  • Supervises maintenance and updates of safety equipment.
  • Leads inspection of safety equipment; Performs risk assessment of all new equipment.
  • Defines and updates control procedures.
  • Monitors all internal and external operations regarding Environmental Protection.

Ensure Compliance to Company Policies and Customers' COCs (Internal and External Audits)

  • Understands policy development requirements of customers and applicable standards.
  • Drafts new EHS policies and procedures as per direction of seniors.
  • Improves existing policies for compliance with standards and requirements.
  • Educates and briefs all HOD’s about new and updated policies.
  • Circulates and promotes compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Follows up and facilitates all departments during policy implementation.
  • Conducts internal and external audits to ensure the compliance of Company Policies and Customers’ COCs; Conducts different certification audits to ensure the Company compliance level with required standards.
  • Supervises subordinate for pre-audit arrangements.
  • Participates in pre-audit meeting and understands requirements.
  • Coordinates during audit (certification/COC) process.
  • Provides necessary details and clarification.
  • Receives post-audit reports and understands NCs raised by auditors.
  • Shares NC’s with respective departments/divisions for CAP.
  • Recommends CAP to department/divisions.
  • Provides updates to auditors on NC’s CAP and ensures closure of same.
  • Produces relevant documents on demand of internal/external auditors.
  • Understands new and existing Social & EHS policies, SOPs, and latest trends of the industry and keeps abreast of knowledge regarding it.
  • Ensures that workers pay to workers regarding all types of benefits including wages and health benefits.
  • Comprehends for new Company policies and Customer COC requirements and takes concrete measures for effective implementation of the same.
  • Studies and understands report findings.
  • Seeks clarification of NCs and resolves all NCs as per Corrective Action Plan (CAP).
  • Suggests improvements in existing standards and SOPs.
  • Propose amendments in the existing Policies / SOPs in the light of the discussion with HOD / Top Management.

Vendors Assessment

  • Ensures frequent visits with Fabric Sourcing & Purchase teams as per set schedules.
  • Conducts visits of different vendors in perspective of Health, Safety, Environment and Social Compliance.
  • Provides feedback to vendors after their evaluation.
  • Assists and gives awareness to internal departments to ensure that their relevant vendors should comply with the maximum level of EHS and Social standards in their factories/manufacturing units.
  • Submits quarterly reports to EPA.
  • Identifies, evaluates and finalizes testing labs.
  • Negotiates and finalizes all contractual terms.

EHS and Social Awareness & Employee Training

  • Ensure internal and external training and drills.
  • Performs risk assessment of all new equipment along with the dedicated Social Performance Team.
  • Defines and updates control procedures.
  • Monitors and ensures training of employees and contractors as required on chemical handling, CPR, maintenance safety etc.
  • Ensures implementation of EHS committee's recommendations.
  • Monitors and supervises the proper investigation of circumstances and causes of accidents and takes necessary steps to prevent a recurrence.
  • Coordinates for testing; receives and understands test results and ensures the implementation of the same.

Maintenance & Upkeep of Fire Protection System

  • Consults Manager SS to prepare EHS equipment’s (e.g. Fire Exits, Fire Extinguishers, Fire Alarm Panels, Fire Hydrant Systems etc.) inspection schedules (daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly).
  • Inspects the said equipment’s physically to ensure its serviceability as per set standards and parameters.
  • Prepares Non-Compliance Report (NCR) in case of any fault or hazard discovered and shares it with the concerned authority.
  • Collaborates with the department(s) to resolve the discovered issue.
  • Keeps a strong follow-up until the discovered issue is rectified.

Management Reporting & Special Assignments

  • Ensures to prepare and submit weekly & monthly reports (incident/accident, internal & external audits, CAP reports, internal & external training and all EHS related scheduled inspections, certifications update) to management.
  • Ensures to perform all other tasks assigned by management.
