Position Detail:

This position is responsible to execute the fabric procurement planner in timely and cost efficient manner, work on library management (as per requirement) and ensure vendors accurate payment reconciliation within the limits of defined policy and procedure and management directives.

Responsibilities:

Sourcing of Fabric (Imports & Local):

  • Review material request from internal customers (PD) and checks the availability of requisite raw materials from within the approved vendors list.
  • Initiate search for new source in case the required material is not available with the existing vendors.
  • Procure samples from new sources as per the guidelines given by the reporting head.
  • Ensure required certifications are available with the selected vendor and in case of non-availability inform the reporting head and search for new vendor.

Vendors\' Development & Performance Evaluation:

  • Visit market and evaluate a new source in terms of market repute, timeliness of delivery, quality/service levels and price competitiveness.
  • Visit and evaluate vendors production facility, product range, energy alternative back up & ensure all required licensing / compliance related certifications are available.
  • Categorizes the vendors in terms of their performance and strengths and share with reporting head.
  • Share updated list of vendors with reporting head to  evaluate the cost effectiveness / quality level and recommend alternatives if required.

Coordination & Handling of Quality Issues:

  • Coordinates with PD, Merchandizing, and QA Departments to take requests for new developments and existing issues in developed samples.
  • Discuss the requirements with the reporting head and in consultation suggest alternate products that are cost-efficient and meet desired quality levels.
  • Resolve fabric counter matching or development issues with the vendor.

Sample Library Management:

  • Maintain library hanger in timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain categories-wise sample library.
  • Ensure availability of all hanger specs with accuracy.
